Gulf Shores

Vacation at Gulf Shores Alabama Beaches

A trip in the early summer to Gulf Shores, Alabama inspired this artwork.  The couple appeared to be enjoying the view of the Gulf of Mexico; however, there were others on the beach; therefore, all of the activity made for a special day at the beach.  The water was such a beautiful sea green and the sand at Gulf Shores is so beautiful and white.

The best three parts of visiting Gulf Shores is the seafood, the new birding areas which have been developed since it received so much damage and the sunrises or sunsets.  We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cabins on the lake which was part of the Gulf Shores State Park and it was very nice. The kitchen had sufficient supplies (except food) and the living area was very comfortable.  We also enjoyed the screened front porch. I hear our names calling to come back to the gulf soon; however, with the fall of the year, the Smoky Mountains may be calling much louder.  Who knows maybe two additional trips are in the near future!

This painting is on gallery canvas size 8x10x 1 1/2 and needs no framing.  The sides of the canvas are also painted with the scene. It will be great on desk, in bookcase or hung on the wall.

Blue Moon

"Once in a Blue Moon"

"Blue Moon" Most of us have heard the term "once in a blue moom" .  Last month we had such a rare moon.   I went out on our deck and took pictures of the moon.  Without a tripod, I was shocked at the results of some of that photogaphy at about 10:00 p.m.   Recently, we visited the Gulf Shores State Park in Alabama and stayed in one of the nice cabins on the lake; however, I was unable to get night scenes from the front porch of the cabin on that visit of a full moon.  For this painting, I placed myself out in the Gulf of Mexico in a boat looking along some of the shore lines which might be found in the Gulf of Mexico.

The painting "Blue Moon" is on gallery canvas 8x10x1 1/4.  Because the this artwork is on gallery canvas, it needs no frame.  "Blue Moon" would be nice on desk,in a bookcase or it can be hung on the wall.

It will make a wonderful Birthday, thank you or Christmas gift for someone you love.  Because it is on gallery canvas, it will sit wonderfully on desk, table, in bookcase and it needs no framing.

Storms Pass Away

Storms Pass Away

Our personal turmols and various weather storms are not pleasant experiences, especially the damaging tornados or hurricanes similar to Katrina and Sandy.  People seem to become more spiritual and call upon God during storms whether they are atmospheric or life events.  The painting “Storms Pass Away” was started several weeks ago.  Now Sandy has pounded wind gusts and there are serious storm surges on the United States which has left ruins like never seen before.  Other areas in America are dealing with snow storms.

Last week as I painted this artwork, my mind went to the horrible tornadoes of Alabama where homes and lives were destroyed in recent years, especially those in May 2011.  Many times after such weather storms, we see the beautiful sunsets to remind us that the storm has passed.   At that time we should thank God for His blessings and lean upon His loving care for our losses.  Often after the storm when people’s lives are rebuilding, more wonderful blessings come their way.

We are reminded in Mark 4:39 of Jesus words "Peace, be still.”  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.  During our church service this week one of the songs, "He will pilot me through life's dark stormy sea.  When blinded eyes can't see the way, my blessed Lord will Pilot me.” Another favorite song is “Til Storm Passes By”. This painting reminds me of some personal storms and those storms have passed away.

Beautiful sunrises and sunsets are earthly blessings reflecting another day God sees fit to give while living our earthly lives. Oh if I never see another one I believe the Glorious Heavenly Home will outshine all sunrises and sunsets.  I heard on the news that New York has had a beautiful rainbow since their storm passed further inland.

The artwork "Storms Pass Away" is size 16x20 inch by 1 1/2 inch, is a gallery canvas, and painted with Atelier interactive paints (similar to oil paints). It is available by contacting artist on this website.
