Autumn in Alabama
My husband and I took a short photography trip down to a fishing camp on the Warrior River. The spot has been a wonderful place for Plein Air painting with friends, Susan, Sharon, and Norma. Our great reward was seeing this beautiful Bald Cyprus tree with vivid colors. It will be subject for painting on rainy or cold day. The tree was near the boat ramp in the fishing village.
I was reminded how short our earthly life will be because the fishing camp was near Birmingport where my great-great- grand father drowned on the Warrior River nearby. This area was level and had lots of wildlife. When he drowned in the squaw shoals, he was taking a barge loaded with coal (often called black gold) from Walker County to Mobile Gulf Coast. He was born 1805 in Virginia and died 1860's in Alabama and buried within 10 miles of where I now live. History and genealogy are other hobbies of mine; however, as art allows me to be creative.
I enjoy photography and art most of all. Thank you husband for all my photography to paint on cold and rainy days.

I thank God for many beautiful sites in Alabama for painting from photography or in plein Air, especially with friends
